One newly picked up detail is the location of Elden Ring's Mohgwyn Palace location and the source of the large pools of blood surrounding it.
Twitter user renjingles is a Dark Souls 3 modder currently entranced with Elden Ring, as so many are. One of their recent Elden Ring posts pondered a revelation regarding Mohgwyn Palace. Mohgwyn Palace is the home of Mohg, Lord of Blood. What renjingles noticed is that Mohgwyn's Palace is located beneath another location on Elden Ring's map. That location is the battlefield where fellow demigod Radahn battles eternally.

As for why that matters, Radahn's battlefield is where he personally fights against an endless war against all warriors that choose to fight. That's because Radahn is nothing more than a mindless physical force that knows nothing but battle, hoping for an honorable death at the hands of any that could defeat him. He's been fighting endlessly for decades, if not centuries. When Radahn defeats an enemy, he also devours their corpse, letting their blood stain the sands of Caelid beneath him.
The idea is that Mohg could be gathering the blood from the earth above him, from the victims of Radahn's madness, and using it for his mad rituals.
