Elden Ring's invasions are the main way players can experience PvP multiplayer during the game. While Elden Ring's gameplay focus is, like many other FromSoftware titles, placed largely around the single-player elements of the game, there are a few ways that players can engage either with friends or random people online. As the name suggests, invasions involve one player traveling to another's world in order to duel them, and they can end up causing some of the most frustrating and bizarre moments in Elden Ring. However, the game's PvP community can also show off some serious skill.
Unlike Elden Ring's bosses, which require players to essentially learn the move patterns so that they can be defeated, player opponents are entirely unpredictable. Elden Ring players have been coming up with some unique and interesting ways to get rid of invaders or defeat hosts, such as one fan who dodged an invasion by impersonating one of Elden Ring's NPCs. In regard to getting rid of an opponent before a fight can even break out, one player managed to defeat two enemies at once by attacking through a wall.
