Though FromSoftware’sElden Ring is technically a new IP, it fits right in with the other ultra-difficult RPGs in the legendary Soulsborne lineup. In 2009, Demon’s Souls set a precedent for meticulous melee combat, in-depth character customization, and intense PvP engagements. Released 13 years later, Elden Ring shares a lot of that game’s DNA, and, as was the case in the PlayStation 3 exclusive that started it all, players are using increasingly creative means to troll each other in online battles.
In a video titled “How To Be A Ledge Lord,” Reddit user u/DrakoGaming showcases a series of delightfully devilish PvP kills that likely left those on the receiving end of the player’s wrath utterly furious. Elden Ring features dozens upon dozens of unique weapons and incantations, and u/DrakoGaming seems to be using the most unconventional armaments to dispatch their opponents. From sniping someone with the Jar Canon to flicking a foe from a rafter with the Ringed Finger, there’s never been a more stunning display of disrespect.

The highlight of the video, however, comes at the end when the player, acting as an invader, disguises themselves as a pot via the Mimic’s Veil item and quickly casts Rejection as their target saunters by, hurling them into a pit. There was, at some point, an established etiquette among From Software PvP enthusiasts, a time in which foes would bow before engaging in combat and fight on equal footing. As demonstrated by these clips, however, it’s no holds barred inElden Ring.
