June 2, 2022 is bringing the next frequently scheduled PlayStation State of Play presentation, where trailers, gameplay, and announcements are expected. Sony's calendar year started off with big titles in Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, but the company's attention has more recently been centered on the relaunch of PlayStation Plus as it attempts a new model to rival Xbox's Game Pass. As the industry approaches a summer filled with gaming news, Sony and the PlayStation brand will follow suit, with an explicit promise of a look at games coming to PSVR 2.
State of Play livestreams are regular occurrences, and always pique the interest of those hoping to get more information on PlayStation's upcoming exclusives. Third-party developers are just as frequently featured, though, as was the case in the last State of Play, which was singularly focused on a long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy gameplay preview. The upcoming State of Play on June 2 appears to be returning to the more common mixed bag of footage, but Sony has already attempted to dampen expectations for first-party exclusives being shown.

In the PlayStation Blog announcement, it's asserted that this State of Play is bringing reveals from third-party partners and a sneak peak at several games coming to PSVR 2. This unfortunately kills some enthusiasm for those hoping for a God of War Ragnarök release date, or a first look at the still unseen multiplayer component of The Last of Us Part II.
