The latest Google Pixel feature drop is now here and includes plenty of new entertainment and accessibility features. There are many reasons to buy a Pixel phone over competing brands but the software experience is one of the main ones. Not only do Pixel phone owners get access to major Android OS upgrades as soon as they become available, but they also get plenty of smaller and useful improvements throughout the year.
Many Pixel phone owners will already be familiar with the company’s regular feature drops. The last ones came through in March and December before that. Unlike usual updates that fix issues, these are more feature-oriented, adding new value to the Pixel experience in the process. These are referred to as drops due them typically including multiple new features, as is the case with the latest June Pixel 2022 drop.

The latest Pixel drop is already in the process of rolling out to applicable devices, which includes the Pixel 4 through to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. As is often the case with Pixel drops, not all new features will be available on all Pixel devices. For example, arguably the biggest new feature is ‘pocket operator for Pixel’ which is only available on Pixel 5 and newer phones. As Google explains, this is a new app which makes it possible for users to create their own music and video mashups by uploading or capturing a video, adding visual effects, layering sounds and mixing beats. The new pocket operator for Pixel can be downloaded directly from the Play Store.
