Moss: Book 2 officially has a release date on Meta Quest 2; the creators of What the Golf are now embracing bats, and we now have a much clearer understanding of Among Us VR. All of this news was revealed in today’s Upload VR showcase, which included multiple announcements for the Meta Quest 2 and other major VR headsets.

A brand-new trailer showcased Among Us VR’s gameplay, revealing an experience that feels in many ways wildly different from the game that became a megahit in 2020. The stealth, backstabbing, and outright lying are all still there, but negotiations are much more than a text box — now you’re actually at the table. The VR changes basically everything, from the basic tasks to the jolt of fear when you turn and find another crewmember just… staring at you. It remains to be seen if these updates will actually work well in the final version, but at first blush, Among Us VR feels almost like a full-blown sequel. It’s currently scheduled for a release in Holiday 2022 on Meta Quest and PC VR devices.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind with motion control games? For a lot of people, it’s lightsabers, but the next best thing is classic sword fighting. Broken Edge is the latest game to try and capture the elemental appeal of blades clashing in VR, featuring a variety of techniques and fighting styles in a multiplayer setting. Broken Edge is being developed by Montreal-based Trebuchet, the studio behind Prison Boss VR, and will be out in 2022 on Meta Quest and PC VR platforms.
