In 2021, the popular sports manga series Blue Lock teased fans about its prospective release as an anime adaptation by Studio 8bit in 2022. Presently, it appears that the anime will be released sooner than expected with the show's confirmed premiere date, new, sensational trailer, and character visuals.
In the previous year, Blue lock released a trailer, revealing the anime's character visuals and possible events occurring in the series. In addition, central characters such as Hyoma Chigiri, Rensuke Kuinigami, Yochi Isagi, & Meguru Bachira and their voice actors were also revealed. However, new information from Blue Lock's official website starred new cast members & visuals for the incoming series.

Blue Lock anime is based on the manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. On Friday, the 13th of August, the official website confirmed that the anime is set to premiere on the 22nd of October. Although the particular day hasn't been specified, the anime will certainly debut in the latter part of the year. The anime would be directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, a renowned director known for producing Haikyuu!! which premiered in 2014, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, in 2016. Filling in the role of assistant director is Shunsuke Ishikawa, a cast member of 91 Days, Erased & Moriarty the Patriot.
The supervisor and writer of the story is Taku Kishimoto, a central crew member in the anime production of Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagotoro, Fruits Basket &Gintama.
