The Magma Whip Candlestick is a Whip in Elden Ring imbued with the unique weapon art known as Sea of Magma, which has its wielder swing the molten whip overhead, covering the surrounding radius with fiery lava. The player can cast this skill continuously as long as they have sufficient FP and Stamina. The Magma Whip Candlestick scales primarily with Faith and Dexterity, requiring an Elden Ring stat allocation of 16 and 18, respectively. This Whip is most effective against groups of trash mobs or larger enemies with generous hitboxes, particularly those that move relatively slowly.
Unfortunately, the scaling of the Magma Whip Candlestick's attack power falls short during the late game, making it suboptimal compared with other fire-imbued weaponry. Nevertheless, its unique design and weapon art effects are stellar, and the Whip's mechanics can be fun to use in lower-level areas such as Limgrave or Liurnia. To get the Magma Whip Candlestick in Elden Ring, Tarnished must progress the questline of a well-known Dark Souls NPC named Patches.

Patches can be first be encountered within Murkwater Cave. Once the player reaches the boss room and loots an unguarded chest, Patches will emerge from a nearby ridge. Tarnished need to be careful that they don't kill this Elden Ring boss during this battle, as his death will end his questline permanently, locking the protagonist from acquiring the Magma Whip Candlestick.
After sparing Patches in Murkwater Cave, travel to the Volcano Manor in the molten summit of Mt. Gelmir. Speak with Headmistress Tanith to join the manor's family and accept her quest by picking up the letter in the dining room down the hall. Reload the area to find
