This comes just one day after the full reveal trailer of Elden Ring's hotly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which already sits at over six million views on Bandai Namco's YouTube channel. The thrilling trailer showcases parts of the new Land of Shadow area, as well as some of the fearsome new bosses players will face off against, causing a swell of excitement and hype among fans online.
Elden Ring has been widely considered to be one of the greatest modern video games ever made. Offering hundreds of hours of exploration, quests, and a vast array of different builds to try and master, Elden Ring quickly became FromSoftware's best-selling game by far, easily eclipsing industry-pushing titles like Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, and Bloodborne by extreme margins. As reported by IGN, publisher Bandai Namco has revealed that FromSoftware's open world game now sits at 23 million copies sold. This includes both physical and digital copies, as well as Steam sales on PC.
While its growth compared to its first year may have slowed considerably, three million copies sold in a single year is still impressive for any game, as most games struggle to even hit the one million mark.
