Elden Ring has gone gold so no more delays – day one patch already in development

Fans have been reassured that Elden Ring will suffer no further delays and will meet its February release date.

After it was already delayed once, FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao has stated that Elden Ring will release in February as scheduled. In fact, he says that the master version has been submitted, aka it’s gone gold.

Basically, this means the game has been shipped off to be published and for physical discs to be manufactured. Unless something truly disastrous happens, there should be nothing to stop Elden Ring from coming out.

Kitao confirmed this during a special Elden Ring broadcast for the Taipei Games Show 2022, which began over the weekend and has now wrapped up. His comments can be heard from the 40:33 mark in the video below.

He adds that the team is already working on a day one patch, to iron out any technical issues and ensure the game is up to snuff once it launches.

While not a Dark Souls game in name, Elden Ring will operate very similarly, dropping its players into an open world full of dangerous and challenging enemies to fight.

With so much excitement surrounding it, the game has naturally been subjected to leaks. Not only have numerous plot details already been spoiled online, but someone managed to share footage of Elden Ring’s character creator.

Recently, FromSoftware fans were also made aware of a new exploit that could allow hackers to take control of someone’s PC through the Dark Souls games, prompting FromSoftware to temporarily shut down the multiplayer servers for those games on PC.

The studio says it’s working to resolve the issue, as it’s believed that this same exploit could affect Elden Ring. As it stands that’s the only possible thing that could impact the game’s launch, and even then
