With every day closer to Elden Ring's release, there seems to be some sort of new information for players to chew on. The latest batch of material is footage of Elden Ring's Liurnia of the Lakes area, a brief yet dense gameplay trailer featuring combat, traversal, and beautiful scenery.
For people who have been followingElden Ring since the beginning, it is strange seeing the current steady release of information after years of being in the dark. After its initial reveal in 2019, fans had to wait two years before Elden Ring made its grand reappearance at Summer Game Fest 2021. Later in 2021, a fortunate collection of the Elden Ring community were able to participate in a closed network test that let players loose in a small section of the Lands Between. Elden Ring Director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently opened up about the game's development in an interview with PlayStation.

In a new video posted by Game Informer, players get a first look at a new area in Elden Ring, Liurnia of the Lakes. The footage starts by showing the player walking up to a pedestal emanating with swirling blue light where they receive a prompt asking, «Travel to another location?» Quickly the player is transported to Liurnia of the Lakes where a giant gate looms in the distance, and beyond what is likely the collection of shallow lakes the remainder of the trailer takes place in. After another cut, fans get to see Elden Ring's multilayered combat in action, with the player starting an engagement stealthily, then moving into a variety of close quarters and magic-based attacks.
