This year has truly been the year of Elden Ring. No other game has topped it. Horizon Forbidden West stood no chance. Stray might've caught some attention, but the indie is facing a foe that's as formidable as Malenia. The only possible contenders left for the rest of 2022 is Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and perhaps God of War: Ragnarok, but it'll be one massively tall order to overcome FromSoftware's breakout mainstream success. Now, in another arena, Elden Ring is setting records.
Having sold like gangbusters, Elden Ring has also topped YouTube for the biggest gaming launch, seeing 3.4 billion video views in 60 days (via Push Square). It's easily one of the most popular game launches on the video-streaming platform ever, and is another feather to the cap that cements Elden Ring as one of gaming's GOATs.

YouTube Gaming shared the numbers, so we have it on pretty good authority. It's an almighty number of video views since we get a comparison with some other huge gaming titles. One of them being the cultural phenomenon that is GTA 5. Rockstar's game is one of the biggest entertainment products of all time, but it pales in comparison with Elden Ring, which is a bit of a surprise. But GTA 5 only – only – had 1.9 billion views for its launch views.
Others in the rankings include Red Dead Redemption 2 with 1.4 billion views; Super Mario Odyssey with 828 million views; Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 638 million views; and rounding off the top 6 is Skyrim on 456 million views.
Interestingly, YouTube Gaming has also collated the top uploads by bosses, meaning we get to see which big bads are the ones drawing the eye balls. Coming out top is Margit
