Eastward Collector's Edition Includes An Entire Board Game
The Exclusive Collector's Edition of Eastward on the Nintendo Switch includes an entire board game. The 2021 action-adventure role-playing video game was developed by Pixpil and published by Chucklefish, the same publisher that published both the action-adventure Starbound and the role-playing simulation Stardew Valley. Now both Pixpil and Chucklefish have come together once more to create an official tabletop board version of the indie game.
As one of the highest-rated video games of 2021, the EarthBound/Mother-inspired Eastward thrives through its story. The indie RPG follows an endearing small girl named Sam and her reserved father-figure named John as they travel eastward in search of a better life. Along the way, they meet colorful NPCs, battle enemies, and complete side quests that eventually culminate into the overarching storyline of the characters' world ending.

Both the developer and publisher of Eastward have collaborated with iam8bit to create an Exclusive Collector's Edition of the indie game that includes an original tabletop board game. The Exclusive Collector's Edition of Eastward is a limited edition with only 3,000 available for purchase. Eastward's cooperative board game has two to four players working together to defeat enemies and rescue villagers before a poisonous miasma wipes out all of mankind. Included with the foldout game board are 15 food cards, 10 item cards, and four playable character standees.
