Vocations in are greatly different from one another, but nowhere is this more apparent than the Trickster, an archetype you can unlock alongside the base classes. Tricksters are masters of illusion magic, fooling enemies with smokescreens produced by their unique Censer weapon. This class tends to avoid fighting directly as they strengthen their allies and confuse their opponents.
The Tricker's gameplay revolves around using the Censer to create billowing smoke that distracts enemies and leads them into certain positions. While your Censer barely does any physical damage, the illusions it creates can be a great way to assist your friends or Pawn allies in . When paired with the Mage vocation, you and that class can often buff your party with various magic.
The Trickster is considered an Advanced Vocation that you can only get when you either talk to the Trickster Maister NPC or complete a certain quest. Thankfully, this is one of the earliest classes you can unlock in the game, with the mission tied to it appearing early in your adventure. You won't find the Maister for the Trickster in any of the vocation guilds, even if you search far and wide in civilized areas of 's map.
Those following the main story may come across the quest, which can be completed to unlock the Trickster vocation. This mission takes you to the region of Battahl, a large desert expanse that holds a lot of high-level enemies. You might want to take an Oxcart to reach this land since traveling to the area in by foot could take almost 20 minutes of real-world time.
Be careful not to venture too far out into the desert during the quest in the main story of tied to the Trickster. At this early stage in the game, you can easily be defeated by strong enemies that reside in the region.
