New DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarothas been confirmed, and players will soon be able to re-experience the 23rd World Tournament storyline from the original Dragon Ball. Released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2020, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot retold the fabled story of Son Goku and his allies throughout the beloved Dragon Ball Z anime through a blend of RPG character development and blistering fighting game action. An upgrade for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X was released in January of this year.
Bandai has promised several DLC expansions for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, retelling famous plotlines from other Dragon Ball films and shows. The first of these expansion packs was released in April 2020 and featured characters and transformations from 2013’s Battle of Gods movie. Later Dragon Ball Z: Kakaot DLC adapted Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F and took players to the bleak, alternate future seen in The History of Trunks and Dragon Ball Super. Finally, a third Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC pack was released last month and saw players take control of Goku’s father Bardock in a prequel to the main Dragon Ball storyline.

The newest Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC expansion has just been confirmed by Namco Bandai. Subtitled “Chaos at the World Tournament,” this new storyline is based on Dragon Ball’s World Tournament Arc, which sees a teenage Goku face off against the villainous Ma Jr. – or as he is more commonly known, Piccolo – during the 23rd World Tournament competition.
