Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is going back to its roots. The fifth DLC, Chaos At The World Tournament, has just been announced by Bandai Namco, taking the game back to the last arc of the original Dragon Ball anime.
"The setting for this story is the 23rd World Tournament, the venue for a series of shocking upsets," wrote Bandai Namco in a serious understatement. As revealed in last month's leak, the DLC will center around the 23rd World Tournament featuring an exciting showdown between Goku and Piccolo that would determine the fate of the entire planet. The tournament would also feature Tien Shinhan, Krillin, Yamcha, Chi-Chi, Cyborg Tao, and Hero who was possessed by Kami in an attempt to stop Piccolo from taking over the world.

I won't spoil the whole story, but if the DLC follows the show, Piccolo will breeze past Krillin and Hero to eventually face Goku in the finals. There, Piccolo reveals several new fighting techniques he learned while training for three years after vowing to avenge his father, whom Goku slayed in an earlier iteration of the World Tournament. One of those techniques turns Piccolo into a massive giant that Goku has to outwit to survive.
The whole arena is vaporized in the fight and needs to be rebuilt for subsequent tournaments. That’s just to give you an idea of the light show you can expect.
Bandai Namco didn't say when Chaos At The World Tournament will arrive, but it did say that you can find more details in the latest edition of V Jump, a Japanese manga magazine. You can also take a look at a few of the screenshots above, which seem to generally follow the plot of the anime.
