Earlier today, the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero website added four new pictures from the game before quickly removing them. However, eagle-eyed fans managed to save the images before they were taken down, revealing that Son Gohan will be playable after all.
We also have a new look at Piccolo and Master Roshi in their Dragon Ball Z outfits instead of the Super appearances we've had up until now, possibly hinting at alternate costumes. You can see all the leaked images embedded below.
Gohan is the half-human, half-Saiyan son of Goku and Chi-Chi. Unlike other Saiyans in the series, he isn't drawn to fighting, only ever rising to the occasion when absolutely necessary. However, when he does, he's proven to be an incredibly powerful opponent, even delivering the final blow to Cell.
During the Saiyan arc, which this design is pulled from, he is abducted by another Saiyan called Raditz in an attempt to force Goku into helping the remnants of his people conquer other planets.
It's possible that these screenshots were added to the website early by mistake ahead of a Saiyan-saga-focused trailer, as all four characters pictured are in outfits from that era. This is purely speculation, but it's the perfect backdrop to a Gohan reveal considering it's where he got his start in the series.
We also see him performing the Masendan, a version of the Maseno attack in which Gohan summons and throws an energy sphere at his opponent.
While Master Roshi and Piccolo may be using alternate costumes lifted from the Saiyan saga in the leaked screenshots, they could also be separate characters entirely. Master Roshi, in his DBZ outfit, appears to be in his normal form as opposed to the maximum power variant we've seen in other trailers, so it could be a weaker version of the character.
Piccolo may likewise have a different moveset given that, during the Saiyan saga, he had yet to merge with Kami-sama, the Guardian of Earth. As such, this version of him would be much weaker.
