While Donkey Kong has never been a particularly pretty face, this Donkey Kong, in particular, looks horrifying. He stands up perfectly straight, with his head tilted down just a bit as his smaller-than-usual eyes seem to leer towards the viewer. The big smile on his face, while looking appropriate for the character and commercial, feels out of place and just creepy in this photo.
