Evangelion finally concluded in 2021 with Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time, Hideaki Anno's long awaited ending to the groundbreaking anime saga. Almost a year later, it's been up in the air when a physical release could be expected, much less if the movie would come to theaters, especially given Amazon's history of not bringing their licensed anime to home video in a timely manner.

On Friday, GKids put worries to rest and announced that they had acquired the rights to the fourth Evangelion film, and that a theatrical release of 3.0+1.0 was on the way in «late 2022.» According to their newsletter, this is to be followed by a home release on Blu-ray. No official date for either was given.
