Thanks to Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor's solo movies now have a lower average Rotten Tomatoes score than the solo movies for any other MCU character. As the only member of the MCU's original Avengers lineup to get a fourth solo movie, Chris Hemsworth's Thor is now tied with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man when it comes to MCU appearances (excluding cameos and post-credits scenes), but the character hasn't been nearly as well-received as RDJ's Tony Stark, particularly when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes.
While the Mightiest Avenger has gotten four total solo movies, that doesn't mean Marvel Studios figured out the perfect formula. Every Thor movie has an overall positive reception, but drastic swings in tone, characterization, and supporting cast throughout each installment have prevented the character from carving out his own clear place in the larger MCU story like other Phase 1 heroes such as Captain America and Iron Man.

Now, thanks to Thor: Love and Thunder's 69 percent Rotten Tomatoes score (the fourth worst score in the MCU), Thor solo movies have an average score of 76 percent, which is lower than the average score for any other character. While The Incredible Hulk's 67 percent score and The Eternals' 47 percent score are both lower, with only one installment for each, neither subfranchise compares to Thor's average across four installments, featuring movies in every Phase in the MCU. The first Thor scored a 77 percent, Thor: The Dark World scored 66 percent, Thor: Ragnarok is the highest scoring Thor movie with 93 percent, and now Thor: Love and Thunder's 69 percent Rotten Tomatoes score hovers just a few points above The Dark World.
