While the popularity of new battle royale titles has dulled, high-profile titles like Gunzilla Games’ Off The Grid are still in the works. The Battle Royale 2.0 shooter has received new screenshots via the PlayStation Store, seemingly showcasing some actual gameplay. Check them out below, courtesy of Gematsu on Twitter.
Neill Blomkamp of District 9 fame serves as the chief visionary officer for the title, which takes place on the tropical Teardrop Island. A covert corporate war is occurring, and you can choose different factions to engage in matches with up to 150 other players in PvEvP combat.
However, a 60-hour narrative campaign also unfolds as one can dive into story missions or partake in a straight-up battle royale, extracting loot and unlocking abilities to improve your character. Off The Grid doesn’t have a release date, but it’s planned for launch in 2023 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
