The blue shrimp that can soon be found at theStar Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel took six months to create. Located in the Epcot Resort behind the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge area, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser treats fans to an immersive two-night experience onboard a luxury cruise spaceship in a galaxy far, far away. The upcoming interactive Star Wars hotel set to open on March 1st allows visitors to create their own voyage, plot secret missions, and dive into a mixture of fine galactic cuisine.
Guests of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will get to experience the Tastes Around The Galaxy on their second night on board, which features the Iced Blue Felucian shrimp. Via CinemaBlend, Walt Disney World Culinary Director Brian Piasecki explained that the process of turning the shrimp blue for the out-of-this-world shrimp cocktail took six months to perfect. In its core, it’s a shrimp cocktail, but the shrimp is brined in butterfly pea tea so it turns the shrimp this shade of blue. It took about 6 months to get right. And it actually permeates through the flesh of the shrimp so when you cut into it or bite into it, the entire shrimp is blue throughout. But it transfers zero flavor. So it tastes like shrimp cocktail. If you were to eat it with your eyes closed it would be a shrimp cocktail.
