Digging holes in is easy enough, butfilling them back up requires slightly more finnicky maneuvering. In order to fill a hole back up, players need to use the shovel to select the hole. It's extremely easy to misclick and create a new hole, instead of filling up the old one. Holes will fill up on their own after 48 hours, but until that time passes, they form an eyesore.
Holes count toward the Valley's item limits, which allow for 600 unique items and 3,000 individual items to be placed at any one time.
Luckily, players have discovered that themuch easier and faster way to get rid of the pesky holes is to simply throw a house over them. Placing then removing any furniture, in fact, will have the same effect on the holes, filling them immediately.
