Diablo Immortal’s next update, Cursed Solstice, arrives this week, adding the game’s first group PvP event, a competitive fishing event, a special increased Gem drop rate, and returning events.
Maintenance will start tomorrow and the update will be live for all regions on Wednesday, July 10th.
The first-ever group PVP event, The Bout of Realms, will roll out in three phases. Registration opens on July 10th and runs through July 15th. During this time, form a party of up to four players, which you can change until the July 15th deadline when all parties will be locked in.
From July 15th through the 22nd, the preliminaries will take place and each team will play through six matches at 9:30 p.m. local server time. Just for participating in the preliminary rounds gets you a Legendary item, and rewards like gold, scrap, and Dust.
Finally, the 16 teams that make the finals will compete for glory from July 22nd through the 31st. The top four finalists will also get a special reward, the Champion’s Fire kill streak visual effect that they can use for 30 days to show off their accomplishments.
If group PVP isn’t your thing, maybe the new Fisher’s Frenzy event is a more suitable competition. Head to the Shimmering Tropic, cast your line, and compete with others to try and land the biggest fish. However, you might fish up something else on your line, with rumors of sea monsters and treasure chests. Rewards include the mythical Lost Jade Fishing Rod, set items, Legendary fear, and more.
Diablo Immortal is also providing several weeks of priority drop rates in Elder Rifts when you go hunting for Five-Star Legendary Gems.
There are a number of returning events as well – Survivor's Bane, Alley of Blood, Trial of the Hordes, Into the Dark Wood, and All Clans on Deck.
The World of Warcraft collaboration, Shadow of the Frozen Throne, continues through July 26th.
