Diablo Immortal continues rolling out the Age of Unmaking and the latest update, “The Writhing Abyss”, adds four new Helliquary bosses, new modes, an expanded Rune system, and more.
This is a big update, and Diablo Immortal has had some big updates recently, including the introduction of the first all-new Diablo class, the Tempest. In this update, the Resonance system gets upgrades, and will be accessible much earlier. You can also enhance your gear by adding affixes to them using new runes that let you expand your options. If you can obtain higher level runes, your legendary items will get better affixes. If the rune is high enough, it might bear Legendary or Rare affixes.
This update will introduce 20 new runes. Runes can drop from regular mobs, but two game modes will offer the highest chances of getting your hands on some.
In the Abyssal Verge, enter and prepare to slay the enemies you encounter, all while a dark shadow keeps creeping in upon you until it surrounds the entire area. Kill as many monsters as you can as fast as you can. Get caught in that shadow and it will damage you until you die. Keep going and once the shadow has crept in and blocked off all possible exits, the final boss will spawn. One more victory means solid rewards.
Castle Erebban is another way to get runes and to test yourself. Like the previous mode where you're always pursued by a deadly shadow, this time-limited mode has you looking for hidden chests. Every chest you open lengthens the timer and increases the overall difficulty. High risk, high reward. If you make it through and find the final chest, an Avatar of Terror will hunt you down but escape and you could get new affixes and runes among the drops.
Within both of those modes, you can collect Abyssal Essence to let you have more runes crafted. The update adds new Legendary gems and Inferno Difficulties I-III. To take advantage of all your potential upgrades are four new Helliquary bosses that will let you unlock those new
