Diablo 4 has been a long time in the making, but it looks like we'll finally get our hands on the game soon.
Perhaps even sooner than expected, as developer Blizzard has announced both an early access weekend and an open beta which are only a matter of weeks away.
It's a good sign that suggests Diablo 4 will meet its announced release date — as well as giving players access to a meaty portion of the game.
The fourth mainline instalment of the long-running series (which started way back in 1997) sees the return of both Mephisto's daughter Lilith as the big bad as well as the traditional darker aesthetic that was missing from Diablo 3.
However, there's plenty new also, including open-world gameplay and PvP interactions.

The Diablo 4 release date is 6th June 2023, it has been confirmed by Activision Blizzard.
The release date was confirmed alongside a fancy new cinematic trailer during The Game Awards 2022, and you can watch the release date trailer below:
The Diablo 4 open beta is on the weekend of 24th to 26th March 2023.
This is a week after the early access pre-order beta, which is live from 17th to 19th March.
Both betas start at 5pm GMT and end at 8pm GMT on the final day.
You should be able to download the open beta from your digital storefront of choice in the days leading up to 24th March.
To take part in the early access weekend, you'll need to pre-order as shown below. Those who pre-order digitally will automatically have the early access open beta available to download, but those with an Early Access code will have to follow the below instructions:
