Capcom has announced a Devil May Cry anime for Netflix, though a release date is yet to be confirmed. The teaser trailer shows Dante performing some acrobatic gunplay, and not much else. There is also a brief part of the soundtrack which sounds suitably heavy for a Devil May Cry based anime.
It follows the confirmation that Netflix’s Onimusha series will stream from November 2nd, part of a steady line of Capcom properties being adapted for the streaming service. Previous other properties include Dragon’s Dogma and Resident Evil. Adi Shankar is tied to Devil May Cry and has worked on other game based animes including Castlevania, Castlevania: Nocturne, Assassin’s Creed, Hyper Light Drifer, and PUBG.
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition was the last game in the series released, and in our review Stefan said, “DMC5 Special Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S builds on the excellence of the original release. It’s not the most essential purchase, since you will soon be able to buy Vergil as DLC for the original release, but with some new game modes like Legendary Dark Knight difficulty and the new graphical options making the game smoother/prettier than ever before, it’s sure to be tempting for fans of the series.”
