Mexican comedic star and Detective Pikachu actor Omar Chaparro is set to star in the upcoming English-language TV comedy-action series titled Coyotes M.C. The TV project is being produced by production studio Moxie 88 and its co-founders Eugenio Villamar and Dan Carrillo Levy, who are also the project's writers and creators. Moxie 88’s VP of Development, Eugenia Esponda, will co-executive produce with Carrillo Levy and Villamar acting as executive producers, along with Jay Weisleder.
According to Deadline, Chaparro portrays a business ethics professor whose life is upended when he is called to step in for his father, who happens to be the infamous leader of the Latino criminal biker gang Los Coyotes M.C. The project is reportedly currently being pitched to potential streamers and buyers. Coyotes M.C. will be Chaparro's English-language TV series debut, although Chaparro has acted in several notable Hollywood films, including Show Dogs with Will Arnett. He also appeared in the comedy hits How to Be a Latin Lover with fellow Mexican stars Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek, as well as Overboard with Anna Faris.

Chaparro has headlined several high-earning record-breaking Spanish-language films such as No Manches Frida 1 & 2 and La Boda de Valentina. These films and others have enabled the actor to hold the record for the highest-grossing actor in the Mexican box office. Many fans stateside may also know Chaparro as the Pokémon Charizard trainer Sebastian in Detective Pikachu with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. The Coyotes M.C. TV series is bound to introduce Chaparro's comedic talents to an even larger audience.
