Destiny 2: The Witch Queen provided first looks at the Darkness and its leader, The Witness, who may be recruiting more disciples for its war. The first of its disciples were seen in the Vow of the Disciple raid, which featured Rhulk as the final boss. Rhulk's lore showed that there may be more disciples on the way, which may be seen in later seasons in Destiny 2. The Witch Queen DLC's main story ended with a reveal of the Witness, who is a brand new enemy type players have never seen before. His look is humanoid with eerie black eyes and pale skin sporting a dark cloak that seems to be made of the same material as other Darkness relics the Guardians have faced in the past. Rhulk, a disciple of the Witness was also shown in this expansion, and was confirmed to be the last of his species from a planet overtaken by the Darkness in Destiny 2. Judging from Rhulk's lore and backstory, it seems like the Witness may be eyeing other individuals in the Destiny universe to recruit as his disciples.
