Following recent rumors, Hollywood actor Norman Reedus has seemingly confirmed that Death Stranding 2 is currently in development. The post-apocalyptic adventure game, which stars Reedus alongside other notable actors like Mads Mikkelsen and Léa Seydoux, was directed by beloved Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. Norman Reedus has previously mentioned Death Stranding 2, but the Walking Dead star seems to officially confirm the project's existence in a recent interview.
Following his departure from Konami and the conclusion of the Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima reformed Kojima Productions as an independent studio. The team's first project was 2019's Death Stranding, a game which casts players as post-apocalyptic delivery man and Norman Reedus lookalike Sam Porter Bridges. While Metal Gear was known for tactical espionage action, Death Stranding puts a strong focus on environmental traversal while dissuading combat. Inventory management lets players optimize their cargo configuration, while obstacles like rocky terrain or flowing water must be circumvented using tools like ladders, ropes and vehicles. Two new Hideo Kojima games were teased by the auteur last year, and it seems that Death Stranding 2 may be one of those upcoming projects.
