Dead Island 2, the long-anticipated new entry in the series developed by Dambuster Studios, is right behind the corner, and a new trailer was shared today to prepare players for their dangerous trip to Hell-A.
The game's launch trailer, which can be watched below, provides a quick overview of zombie-infested Los Angeles and of what players will be doing the most during their time in Hell-A: slaying zombies in a gloriously gory fashion.
Last week, publisher Deep Silver shared new information on the Dead Island 2's PC system requirements, which aren't particularly high compared to other modern games, so it seems like the second entry in the series will not be slaying as many systems as it will zombies. Alongside the system requirements, the publisher also revealed some additional information on the game, such as the 60 FPS target framerate for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the 30 FPS target framerate for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the lack of crossplay support, which is definitely disappointing, considering co-op will be a big part of the experience.
While Dead Island 2 feels like a step back from the previous entries in the series, as it won't feature an open-world setting, the game seems like a step forward from its predecessors in every other way. The FLESH system, an impressive procedural gameplay system that shows the damage done to zombies, will make sure that players will truly feel each and every kill as they take down hordes of zombies to survive another day in Hell-A. The RPG and crafting mechanics, which will provide ample customization options, will round up a package that fans of the first entry in the series have been waiting for a very, very long time.
