James Gunn revealed David Corenswet’s Suit on May 6 and fans couldn’t help but notice the fine detailing on it. Most importantly, the return of the iconic red trunks on his pants caught a lot of attention.

The suit features a similar logo to the one seen on Superman’s suit in the “Kingdom Come” comic series. This maintains the traditional yellow and red color scheme. The collar teases an inspiration from Superman’s suit in the New 52 era. The classic comic-accurate red trunks also make a return, as they weren’t seen on Henry Cavill’s DCEU Superman.
Users across X (previously Twitter) have shared many reactions to the latest Superman costume. Some users have praised the new Superman suit for honoring the past and trying to make the suit seem more tangible. Other users have drawn unfavorable comparisons to past versions of the suit worn by Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin. Furthermore, the hidden red trunks have also caught the eye of many.
