The voice of Anakin Skywalker breaking through Darth Vader's mask is the most heartbreaking moment in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The season finale concludes Kenobi's rescue of Leia, gives Reva her redemption, and sets up Ben Kenobi's nomadic existence in A New Hope. It also finally resolves Obi-Wan Kenobi's guilt over Anakin's fall to the dark side in a lightsaber battle that leads to a devastating character moment.
To distract the Imperial Star Destroyer from attacking Leia and the escaping refugee ship, Obi-Wan lures Vader to a nearby planet for their final battle. Buried alive in the struggle, Kenobi finally summons the strength he needs to defeat Vader and protect the future of the Skywalker twins. It's a final battle that pays off the conflict between Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor's characters more than Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith did, thanks to a key moment.

After regaining his strength as a Jedi, Obi-Wan strikes back against Vader, slashing across his chest unit and slicing his helmet in half. Before he can deliver a finishing blow, Kenobi looks into the exposed eye of Anakin Skywalker, horrified. Confronted with what his former padawan has become, Kenobi's simmering guilt boils over into an emotionally raw, tearful apology. It's a more contained and human moment than the overcooked "You were supposed to be the chosen one!" from the climax of Revenge of the Sith.
