The Danganronpa series has made its Xbox debut in a surprise release.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday by Spike Chunsoft, it was announced that the Anniversary Edition of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is available now on Xbox and PC.
What’s more, the game is also available on both the console and PC versions of Game Pass.
The Anniversary Edition was previously released on iOS and Android in 2020 to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary, then on Switch in December 2021.
The original version of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was released in 2010 for the Sony PSP, and quickly gained a cult following.
Since then, the series has enjoyed two sequels, as well as numerous spin-offs and compilations.
In 2017, Famitsu readers voted it the fourth-best adventure game of all time, while Dontnod Entertainment‘s creative director Jean-Maxime Moris once cited it as an inspiration for Life is Strange.
The game is a murder mystery visual novel which plays similarly to the Ace Attorney games, and tells the story of a bizarre mutual murder game taking place in a school.

While the series has mainly been released on PlayStation systems, however (with the Switch getting ports last year), today marks the first time a Danganronpa game has been released on an Xbox system.
The Anniversary Edition includes “improved gameplay systems” and a new gallery feature.
