The Live in Night City mod for Cyberpunk 2077 makes food and drink useful with the addition of survival mode elements. In fairness, Cyberpunk 2077's various consumables aren't completely useless, especially since most items offer temporary boosts of some kind. Food provides V with a 5 percent max health bonus, along with a very small regeneration buff when out of combat. On the other hand, drinks apply the Hydration status, which increases the character's max stamina by 10 percent. Other consumables like the Oxy Booster and RAM Jolt allow V to breathe underwater and access an additional two RAM slots.
Outside of the relatively minimal status effects, players often see no real reason to provide V with sustenance. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 does not feature hunger and thirst maintenance à la Red Dead Redemption 2's Core system. Fans of CD Projekt Red's sci-fi RPG have expressed an interest in seeing something along those lines implemented, however. While it seems unlikely the studio itself will get around to creating such changes, one PC modder took it upon themselves to produce a survival mode that provides Cyberpunk 2077's often overlooked consumables with purpose.
