This past November, Cult of the Lamb devs promised fans a sex update to the game. They weren’t just teasing: The aptly named free update, Sins of the Flesh, arrives on Jan. 16 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 4, and Xbox Series X players. It’s the largest update for the game yet, adding new quests and features.
This update dives into taboos of all stripes, most notably giving cultists the option to indulge in the horizontal tango. The Sins of the Flesh trailer shows a cultist in the nude, except for an artfully placed fig leaf, holding and spinning the titular lamb while laying on the rizz. In the background, two other cultists run into a tent together, which sways and moves while we hear giggling from inside. The two emerge holding an egg with sinister looking eyeballs drawn on the outside.
“We used games like Pokémon and The Sims when it comes to references,” Cult of the Lamb developers told Polygon last year. Thanks to its choice to lean more Sims than DeviantArt, the game did indeed keep its T (Teen) rating.
And what is that egg? Per a news release, if two Followers “love each other very much,” they can find an egg, nurture it for it to hatch, and then indoctrinate the offspring into the cult.
The Sins of the Flesh also includes new cult management options and a new progression system that lets cultists to take a sinful path, indulging in “gluttonous rituals, vain buildings and wrathful doctrines.” The update adds a poop variant — niiiiiiice — called shiny poop, which can yield fruitful crops, and a new tier for the Janitor Station and the Storage Structures. A new Tailor building also means that Followers can wear outfits; there are 23 different styles to choose from.
