The headline isn't an exaggeration, folks. The skin market in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has begun to pick up in activity due to an announcement relating to the upcoming Counter-Strike 2, which is currently available in a limited beta form. The reason is that the CS:GO skins will be available for players on CS2, thus, the value of the skins began to increase massively, which leads to today's story as an AK-47 skin has become one of the most expensive guns in history.
The skin in question is a Tier 1 Case Hardened 'Blue Gem' skin which was put up for sale in November 2022. Case Hardened skins aren't that valuable on their own, but the pattern #661 that can be seen on the side of the gun makes it one of the most valuable items in CS:GO, especially when you consider the fact that it's a Minimal Wear version of the skin. What bumps this even further are the stickers applied, which in a few words, are the most expensive stickers in all of CS:GO. The stickers in question are four Katowice 2014 Titan Holo Stickers, which are worth $60,000 each nowadays.
As reported by Dexerto, the sale was mediated by CS:GO trader zipeL, who arranged the trade on behalf of the now-former owner Luksusbums. The sale also included a Karambit #387 P1 in well-worn condition, which is worth $100,000. Thus, making this sale have a combined value of $500,000 in total, marking this as one of the most expensive skin sales in all of video game history.
I just completed the second largest trade in CS history! Sold these two on behalf of @Luksusbums
