Crystar throws quite the curveball with its second playthrough. Not simply a New Game Plus, this is a full continuation of the story that’s full of new boss battles and narrative reveals. Aristotle is the first gut-punch of the second run.

Many bosses in Crystar have been rather underwhelming, but Aristotle manages to nail the visual and mechanical edge required to make a good fight. Plenty of attacks, pseudo-phase design, a killer aesthetic, and some sneaky tricks make this one of the best. Going in with a plan, however, makes this fight go a lot smoother.
Aristotle, despite its size and draconic appearance, is a ranged specialist who wants to keep away and blast you with powerful barrages of purple energy. Aristotle’s move-set changes as the first rages on, so be prepared to change your strategy on the fly.
Aristotle's signature attack is its ability to fire off a bunch of purple projectiles in various formations. These tend to cover a large area, come in bursts of three, signposted with a humongous glyph that burns into the ground below Aristotle.
Getting hit by any variant of this attack has a chance to result in massive damage. Because it is fired in powerful bursts of three, you could get stun-locked into taking the full brunt of the attack. Whilst this won't actually kill you, it will sting.
Aristotle tends to move away slowly, so it can fire its projectiles, but it can also teleport. This by itself is not a big deal, however, Aristotle will always follow this up with her signature burst attack, and she seems to fire it faster than usual. Be prepared to close the distance quickly and dodge.
