A new Doctor Who fan animation unites Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor with David Tennant's Tenth Doctor. Regeneration is the key to Doctor Who's success; it allows the world's longest-running science-fiction TV series to continually reinvent itself. It also means many viewers have their personal favorite Doctor. The most popular from the classic series is arguably Tom Baker, while David Tennant is generally seen as the best Doctor since the 2005 relaunch.
In August 2020, Big Finish Productions released the Doctor Who audio drama «Out of Time-1,» uniting Baker and Tennant in an adventure against the Daleks. It was well-received by Whovians, and like all the best multi-Doctor stories, it allowed the two incarnations to shine a light on one another's characterizations. It was fitting for these two Doctors to face the Daleks. Baker's Fourth Doctor inadvertently started the Time War when he refused to commit genocide on the Time Lords' behalf and erase the Daleks from history, while Tennant's Tenth Doctor is still reeling from the emotional baggage of the Time War, wishing his former self had done the deed.

Doctor Who fan Josh Snares has created his own animation to go with «Out of Time-1.» It's been lovingly created, originally as a personal project but posted on YouTube because of public demand. It doesn't include the audio, which belongs to Big Finish, but casual viewers can of course view subtitles — and the audio can be purchased to go with it. Pleasingly, it doesn't look as though there are going to be any copyright issues, because Big Finish has now promoted the project on social media.
