The highly-anticipated simulation game Coral Island has received an early access release date in a new gameplay trailer. Coral Island is being developed by Stairway Games and is set to be published by Humble Games, the publishing wing of the company behind the famous charity Humble Bundles. Coral Island aims to put a unique spin on the simulation genre popularized by titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, and has caused a lot of excitement amongst fans of the genre since it was announced.
Coral Island is a simulation game in an island setting where players will participate in many staple activities for the genre. Players can farm crops, raise animals, decorate homes, participate in town events, and get to know the locals. Coral Island offers an environmentalism twist to the genre, as the waters around the island are polluted. Players must use a special underwater vacuum to clean up the ocean floor as they befriend Merfolk and improve the quality of the water. At this time, no firm release date for the final version of Coral Island has been announced.
