The first look images for the upcoming television adaptation of Sally Rooney’s debut novel Conversations With Friends are officially here. Based on the novel by the same name, Conversations With Friends centers around college student Frances, as the 21-year-old attempts to navigate a string of complicated relationships that make her face her own vulnerabilities head on. The upcoming series follows the success of Rooney’s novel Normal People, which was adapted into a highly successful TV series in 2020.
Along with the first look images shared by Vanity Fair, it has been announced that most of the creative team from Normal People are onboard the Conversations With Friends crew. Lenny Abrahamson is back as the show's director, with Alice Birch again taking on the writer role. Ed Guiney, along with Rooney, are both returning as executive producers on the upcoming project. The first glimpse images allows an intimate look at the chemistry shared between the small cast of main characters (Frances, Melissa, Bobbi and Nick) in the highly anticipated upcoming series. Alison Oliver is set to take on the role of Frances, with Sasha Lane, Joe Alwyn, and Girls and Sex Education star Jemima Kirke among the rest of the Conversations With Friends cast.
