Apple will re-release Academy Award-nominated CODA in cinemas for a limited theatrical run following its history-making Oscar nods.
The film is showing for free (limit four tickets per person) in major cities across the US and in London from Friday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, Feb. 27. All screenings will feature open captions. Apple Original Films is offering three free screenings each day, available on a first-come-first-served basis. Audiences at a special showing in Los Angeles can join a live ASL-translated Q&A with the cast and Heder.

Star Troy Kotsur is also the first deaf male nominee in the Best Supporting Actor category. (Co-star Marlee Matlin collected a golden statue in 1987 for her role in Children of a Lesser God.) The film also received a nod for Best Adapted Screenplay—the first for writer/director Siân Heder.
"Every so often, a film comes along that strikes a deep emotional chord for audiences who celebrate its win for humanity. CODA does just that," Matt Dentler, Apple's head of features, said in a statement. "Siân and the amazing cast and crew of CODA gave the world a gift with this film, and we are inspired to pass it on."
