With the Wasteland games, inXile Entertainment has established itself as a developer of excellent RPGs over the years, so it’s no surprise that many have had their eyes on what they’ll be doing next for some time. A while back, we first started hearing about the studio’s next project, a new first person RPG IP, and at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, that was officially unveiled.
Called Clockwork Revolution, inXile’s new title is being billed as a “time-bending steampunk first-person RPG”. Players will be transported to Avalon, a “vibrant steam-powered metropolis” that has been “carefully crafted through the alteration of historical events”.
Throughout Clockwork Revolution, players will travel back in time to key moments and make a variety of decisions that will shape the future to come and determine the outcome of the story in various ways. Check out its announcement trailer below.
Clockwork Revolution is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. No release date is mentioned, with the end of the trailer simply saying the game will be “out in due time”.
