London-based game developer and publisher Chucklefish has given its staff a pay rise to help them cope with the UK's cost of living crisis.
The news was revealed on Twitter by the company's comms manager Alexis Trust – spotted by GI.biz – who said that the firm had given employees a £4,000 ($xxxx) increase in pay to help with the massive energy bills UK citizens are currently facing.
"Management at Chucklefish just announced a £4k pay increase across the company to help with horrid bill increases," Trust wrote.
"Should probably add that this was on top of the 10% increase they gave us back in April. Feel extremely lucky right now."
Chucklefish has also moved to a four day working week in 2021.
"Back in 2021 we kicked off 4-day working with no pay decrease which has been incredibly successful for the studio," Trust continued. "Not to mention we've had a no-crunch policy that's been in place for several years. This works thanks to excellent planning, talented colleges and mutual empathy."
