Togepi first made their debut in the first season of the Pokemon anime during an episode titled «Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon.» For gamers who need a refresher, this took place during Generation 1 in the Kanto Region, where Ash, Misty, and Brock participated in an archeological dig. At the end of the episode, Ash comes across a Pokemon Egg that contains what would eventually become Misty's Pokemon Togepi. This brand-new Pokemon's appearance marked the second time during the Kanto era that a Generation 2 Pokemon appeared, the first being Ho-Oh.
