Pokemon Fan Designs 'Biblically Accurate' Golbat
A recent fan design from the Pokemon community features what one fan believes a biblically accurate Golbat would look like in the world of Pokemon. Although fan-made designs for many of the little guys from the Pokemon series are plentiful online, a lot of them can be considered strange — and this particular design just takes things to another level entirely.
The design seems to be inspired by the popular meme referencing the depiction of angels in the Christian Bible, featuring an eldritch, otherworldly appearance with multiple eyes and wings. This Golbat concept is just one of the many crazy designs frequently presented by Pokemon fans, usually created simply from boredom or just to share a laugh with others in the fanbase.

The art was posted on Reddit by the user vinsear as the creator, featuring the drawing of Golbat as an eldritch entity with multiple wings and eyes, complete with two burning halos above its head. Aside from simply being a post made for amusement, the artist was apparently inspired to pursue this Pokemon concept as it seemed perfectly fitting for the Halloween season.
The Pokemon series generally isn't afraid to venture into territories referencing religious themes either, with a Pokemon known as Arceus canonically being the creator of all things in the Pokemon universe. Many players may recognize the name from the recent title Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but interestingly enough, there are many other story elements and Pokemon that refer to aspects of religious folklore in the real world.
