As Thor embarks on a new journey in Thor: Love and Thunder, actor Chris Hemsworth's recent comments reveal a sad truth about the Avengers. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor declined his throne, passing it instead to Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy in their space-bound adventures. Out of the MCU's original "Big Three", only Thor is still active in the franchise, with Tony Stark/ Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) sacrificing himself to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) and Steve Rogers/ Captain America (Chris Evans) retiring to an unknown location. As such, while promoting Thor: Love and Thunder, Hemsworth has inevitably looked back at his character's relationships with his fellow original Avengers.
In an interview with Phase Zero, Hemsworth reflected on Thor's friendship with Iron Man and Captain America, as he was asked who the Asgardian misses more between the two heroes. Although the Thor star did not directly answer the question, he mentioned that Stark often told jokes at his expense, indicating an arguably tumultuous relationship between the two. On the other hand, while Rogers was a bit more friendly towards Thor, that still did not guarantee that their interactions developed into a meaningful friendship.

Chris Hemsworth's remarks disclosed a sad truth — the Avengers were not actually friends.
