The most controversial Captain America armor has returned, and the hero is being forced to wear it to stop a massive threat to the Marvel Universe. In Captain America/Iron Man #4 by Marvel Comics, Steve Rogers suits up in his former Secret Empire armor, which has been altered by Fifty-One, and he's not very happy about it.
Captain America has one of the most spotless reputations in comics, as the longtime Avenger embodies everything that makes a hero great. But, Marvel revealed the hero had secretly been working with Hydra during the Secret Empire event, a change that was against everything Captain America stood for. The event proved controversial as it turned out Hydra Cap led the evil organization, with some readers calling the shift of allegiances a betrayal of everything the character stood for previously. In the end, Hydra Cap turned out to not be the real thing as Marvel's main Captain America would return to defeat him. Unfortunately, however, Steve Rogers is still living with the repercussions of Secret Empire.

In Captain America/Iron Man #4 by Derek Landy, Angel Unzueta, Rachelle Rosenberg, VC's Joe Caramagna, and Alex Ross, the real Captain America is reminded of the darkest chapter for the hero. With the Overseer attacking, Captain America tends to Fifty-One, who's wearing an altered version of his evil doppelganger's Secret Empire armor. Iron Man suggests Captain America wear the armor to avoid the Overseer's sensors, leading the hero to confront his controversial past and suit up.
