New set photos from the highly anticipated sequel have been dropped. The photos show Anthony Mackie filming the new movie, as well as a recreation of a place from the world of Marvel Comics.
The latest set photos come as filming on the project commences and feature Mackie dressed casually as he films a scene without his new Captain America costume. Another photo shows the inside of a place called Smyth’s Diner. Fans of Marvel Comics might recognize this as the same place that appeared in #2, which released in 1991.
In the comics, Col. James Fletcher called General Phillips from the diner after escaping from the Das Vernichtungs-Kommandos/The Killing Squad — a group of supervillains that existed in the comics during World War II. While it’s unlikely this exact storyline will happen in the upcoming film, it is a nice nod to the comics nonetheless.
Anthony Mackie has started filming the fourth «Captain America» film and there's some interesting photos from the set as well! https://t.co/nloMAG5qna
