It's not long now before a year will have passed since the release of Resident Evil Village. The game received strong reviews from consumers and critics alike, and though the game has plenty to do in terms of story, scares, weapons and more, that hasn't stopped fans wanting more in the form of a DLC. Though around Halloween 2021 developer Capcom revealed that some free DLC was in the works for Resident Evil Village, so far there has been little news on it.
With Resident Evil's soft reboot since Resident Evil 7 gave fans a new protagonist, the franchise's popularity has seen a boost, with Resident Evil Village having sold over 5.7 million copies as of January 2022. It seems strange then, that Capcom has yet to capitalize on this success by bringing new content for the game. However, it looks like after months of silence, Capcom may be teasing the free DLC that was announced back in October 2021.
The Most Completed Game of 2021 Was Resident Evil Village
On the Capcom Games website, there's currently a page called Capcom Countdown, which when loaded shows viewers an eerie dark space, with numbers written in white which will count down to zero towards the end of this week. At the time of writing, there's no word on what this mysterious countdown is officially alluding to, yet many are speculating that this Capcom Countdown will eventually reveal the upcoming Resident Evil Village DLC. However, there are other theories of what the countdown would be referring to, with hope also being sparked for a new Street Fighter game.
